Project Management Oversight

Pursuant to the RTA Act, the RTA is responsible for ensuring that the Service Boards are spending capital funds and managing their capital projects effectively and efficiently.  The RTA conducts periodic project reviews with Service Board project managers to ensure that capital projects are being implemented according to scope, on schedule, within budget and according to established project management guidelines.

Capital Asset Condition Assessment Report

The RTA has led efforts to assess the condition of existing capital assets throughout the regional transit system in order to understand and quantify the extent of capital investment needs. The results of these efforts are published in a series of annual reports that characterize the region’s state of good repair.  The documents also provides estimates of future replacement, rehabilitation, and capital maintenance costs for the CTA, Metra, and Pace.
