Funding Programs

Green Transit Plan

The RTA is engaged in numerous initiatives geared towards increasing transit’s role in reducing regional greenhouse gas emissions.

Passengers can easily get through our three transit services by using the RTA's newly designed signs, maps, route diagrams and schedules.

Land Use and Transit-Oriented Development Initiatives

The RTA’s Local Planning and Programs Division has developed and implemented several initiatives, technical studies and policies to foster sustainable and livable communities that enhance multi-modal transportation throughout the region. Through these coordinated efforts, the RTA is committed to advancing transit-oriented development in our region.

Regional Transportation Authority Mapping and Statistics

RTAMS is a web-based transit data warehouse consisting of asset, planning, financial and other related information about the transit system within northeastern Illinois, including Chicago. The website also includes interactive maps which allow users to view data sets in relation to specific areas of the region.
