We are excited to announce our Board unanimously adopted the 2016 operating budget for the RTA and Service Boards totaling $2.9 billion, as well as a $3.9 billion five year capital program. We've had an incredibly productive budget season, marked by collaboration and putting the needs of the transit rider first! The RTA, CTA, Metra and Pace reached an agreement on operating funding allocations nearly a month ahead of our statutory deadline and increased funding for the Service Boards again this year by directly programming state authorized Innovation, Coordination and Enhancement (ICE) funds through the budget process. Check out what else is in store for next year’s budget. There’s a lot to look forward to in 2016.
