The 2013-2018 Regional Transit Strategic Plan, a collaboration between the RTA, CTA, Metra and Pace, has four goals. Goal number three is to promote a green, livable and prosperous region. A recent announcement by the CTA shows the region's commitment to continually achieving that goal. Read more about the CTA's plans to add electric buses to it fleet: Get the story here. Officials claim the emissions reductions from operating the two buses is the equivalent of removing 14 internal-combustion cars from the road, and adds up to $39,000 in health-benefit savings.
