The RTA is responsible for managing rider eligibility for ADA Complementary Paratransit services in our region. Pace provides ADA Paratransit service in our area. This week, the RTA is proud to host a two-day comprehensive ADA Paratransit eligibility course. The National Transit Institute (NTI) course teaches transit professionals how to make these important eligibility decisions for customers with disabilities applying for ADA Paratransit service. NTI’s mission is to provide training, education, and clearinghouse services in support of public transportation and quality of life in the United States.
“The RTA is honored to host NTI’s Comprehensive ADA Paratransit Eligibility Course,” said Michael VanDekreke, RTA Director of the Mobility Services Department. “We have been determining ADA Paratransit Eligibility since 1993 and moved to a comprehensive in-person interview and assessment process in 2000. We welcome the 40 participants from around the country to this NTI course at the RTA and we’re pleased to help assure transit systems throughout the country use best practices in determining ADA Paratransit eligibility.”
