As financial oversight is an important part of the RTA’s mission, it’s nice to earn industry recognition for our employees’ great work and dedication.
The RTA is proud to announce that we are the recipient of the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for our 2016 comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).
We are honored to receive this prestigious award for the 23rd consecutive year! It speaks to our commitment to providing financials that meet the highest standards of communication and accountability to the public.
Our 2016 CAFR was rated “proficient” in 17 categories, qualifying our regional financial report to be an example for others throughout North America. Our Controller’s Division also received a Certificate of Recognition as it was their great work that was responsible for us receiving this award.
The Government Finance Officers Association is a nonprofit professional association serving nearly 18,000 government finance professionals throughout North America. The GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting is the only national awards program in governmental financial reporting.
Once again congratulations to the RTA employees and their great work! The RTA’s award-winning 2016 CAFR can be found at www.RTAChicago.org.
