Today the RTA is excited to welcome two new members to the RTA Board of Directors. Their appointments are a great addition to the region’s transit leadership. I’m proud to introduce you to Director Pat Carey and Director David Andalcio.
Pat Carey
Director Carey represents Lake County. She replaces Director Dwight “Ike” Magalis, who served on the board with distinction for 20 years.
Director Carey brings a wealth of public and private sector experience to the RTA Board. She held the position of Senior Vice President, Technology Services for WorldTravel BTI as well as other technology-related roles in the travel sector. Most recently she worked in an economic development and marketing role for the Village of Arlington Heights.
In addition, Director Carey has committed untold hours of public service to Lake County. She served as trustee and then mayor of Grayslake, as well as serving on the Lake County Board and the Lake County Forest Preserve Board. She has also held posts on the Lake Forest Hospital Board and Grayslake Parks and Museums foundations.
Director Carey received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Loyola University. She lives in Grayslake with her husband.
David Andalcio
Director Andalcio represents DuPage County. He replaces Director Patrick J. Durante, who served on the board with distinction for 20 years.
Director Andalcio’s experience in business and government and his entrepreneurial leadership adds a vital and diverse voice to the RTA Board. His career spans from his earliest ventures with electronics, distribution, manufacturing, and information technology companies, later as a Board Director of the Illinois State Toll Highway and Chairman of the Engineering Committee, to his current role as CEO of Wynndalco Enterprises, LLC. Director Andalcio has completed graduate business study at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (AMP), the Stanford University Alumni Graduate Executive Program, the Notre Dame Corporate Governance Executive Program, and the University of Illinois Entrepreneurial Studies.
