Happy International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month from the RTA

March 8, 2020
Each year the RTA celebrates Women’s History Month in March to recognize the women who work at, and ride, CTA, Metra, and Pace every day. The celebration coincides with International Women’s Day on Sunday, March 8, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
This year, the RTA would like to spotlight the many diverse women in transit and their contributions to the industry. The Chicago region is home to women of many backgrounds, and we support them as they reach their destinations, whether on the region’s transit network or by reaching their life goals.
The RTA is proud that a majority of the agency’s executive staff, and three members of the RTA Board of directors, are women. Enjoy a video spotlighting women of the RTA from different heritages wishing you a Happy Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day in Spanish, Russian, Mandarin Chinese, French, Hungarian, and Polish.
Thank you to Bea Reyna-Hickey, Chief Financial Officer; Tatiana Jane, Manager of Capital Programs; Xiaoni Wu, Senior Program Analyst; Nadine Lacombe, General Counsel; Nora Bhuiya-Taksas, Principal Analyst; and Violet Gunka-Gurgul, Project Management Oversight Manager, for sharing this important message across cultures.
